Job description

We are seeking an experienced HR Generalist with a specialization in recruitment and onboarding to join this large food production business. The HR Generalist will be responsible for managing end-to-end recruitment processes, sourcing top talent, and ensuring a smooth onboarding experience for new employees. Responsibilities:

  1. Recruitment:

    • Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies to attract and hire qualified candidates for various positions within the organization.
    • Collaborate with hiring managers to identify staffing needs and create job descriptions that accurately reflect the required skills and qualifications.
    • Source candidates through various channels, including job boards, social media, professional networks, and employee referrals.
    • Conduct initial screening of resumes and applications, and coordinate interviews with hiring managers.
    • Perform reference checks, background checks, and other pre-employment screening activities.
    • Extend job offers and negotiate terms of employment in alignment with company policies and guidelines.
  2. Onboarding:

    • Design and execute a comprehensive onboarding program to facilitate a seamless transition for new employees into the organization.
    • Coordinate new hire paperwork, including employment contracts, benefits enrolment, and tax forms.
    • Conduct orientation sessions to introduce new employees to company policies, procedures, and culture.
    • Coordinate with various departments to ensure new employees receive necessary training and resources to perform their roles effectively.
    • Serve as a point of contact for new hires, addressing any questions or concerns during their onboarding period.
  3. Employer Branding:

    • Develop and maintain a strong employer brand to attract top talent to the organization.
    • Create engaging job advertisements and promote job openings through appropriate channels.
    • Attend job fairs, industry events, and networking opportunities to enhance the organization's visibility within the talent pool.
    • Collaborate with marketing and communications teams to leverage social media platforms and other marketing channels for employer branding purposes.
  4. HR Support and Compliance:

    • Provide guidance and support to employees and managers on HR policies, procedures, and practices.
    • Assist with employee relations matters, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and performance management.
    • Stay updated on employment laws and regulations to ensure compliance in recruitment and onboarding processes.
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and HR databases.

Qualifications:

  • Qualificatino in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Proven experience as an HR Generalist, with a focus on recruitment and onboarding.
  • In-depth knowledge of recruitment best practices, sourcing techniques, and applicant tracking systems.
  • Familiarity with food production industry and related positions is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.
  • Proficient in using HR software and tools for recruitment and onboarding purposes.
  • High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential information with professionalism.
