Job Summary:

Summary

As a Credit Analyst, you will review submitted applications for approval, conditional approval, or decline using UACC’s lending guidelines, callback submitted applications that have been approved or conditionally approved through our automated decisioning process with a goal of capturing the contracts. This includes following up on applications with dealerships over the phone using UACC’s common sense lending approach which includes structuring and restructuring non-prime deals as needed. You will ensure that loan requests meet program and product specifications or counteroffer to a different product and/or program when appropriate. The Credit Analyst will review and analyze variances during the funding process. In addition, you will communicate decisions to appropriate individuals, uphold fair lending practices, and meet targets for productivity, quality and customer satisfaction; relationship management between the Dealership Body and the Sales/Marketing team play a large role in the day to day success of this position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Follow up with dealerships on automated decisioned applications in an effort to capture the contracts.
  • Extensive phone communication with existing dealer partners.
  • Ensure sales contracts meet program and guideline specifications or counteroffer to a different program to evaluate risk and price the application accordingly
  • Build strong relationships with effective communication between the dealership body, sales/marketing team, and funders to gain credibility
  • Ability to restructure figures as needed including negotiating to secure contracts.
  • Evaluate credit reports, customer information, and application structure to make sound underwriting decisions for company profitability
  • Ability to meet monthly goals for production, quality, and customer satisfaction
  • Review and analyze risk of the contract by evaluating stability, ability, deal structure, and credit worthiness
  • Utilize Credit experience to make appropriate credit decisions

  • Knowledge of Consumer Auto Finance and/or underwriting experience highly preferred
  • Working knowledge of consumer credit
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; Equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted in lieu of degree
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to develop business relationships with customers (our dealers), sales/marketing team members, as well as peers.
