Tanaq Support Services (TSS) delivers professional, scientific, and technical services and information technology (IT) solutions to federal agencies in health, agriculture, technology, and other government services. About the Role


We are seeking a Health Communication Specialist - Training Events Coordinator to provide support to our Federal client.


This is a hybrid remote role based in Atlanta, GA.


Responsibilities

  • Coordinate logistics for training webinars and in-person training opportunities, this includes creating agendas, slide sets, completing paperwork for continuing education credits, promoting the training opportunities, prepping the scientific spokesperson, and staffing the event to handle logistics and follow-ups as well as posting to the web as requested. 
  • Coordinate with subject matter experts, as well as communications and training professionals from other programs and partner agencies to ensure effective efforts and successful collaboration. Maintain those partnerships.
  • Assists in triaging and developing responses to inquiries, including those received through events and partners.
  • Collect, analyze and report data related to trainings and partner activities. Maintain updated databases to track branch activities, as well as feedback from trainings for evaluation and use in other activities.
  • Respond to urgent requests, coordinate and obtain appropriate clearances in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate with subject matter experts and prepare responses, reports, and/or documents that reflect effective interaction with team members, program personnel, and other relevant parties.
  • Maintain records according to appropriate protocol and guidance, and complete activities within established timelines.
  • Follow Section 508 guidelines when preparing electronic documents that will be posted online or distributed via email. Use HHS Checklists to help ensure compliance with the guidelines.
  • Participates in meetings as a representative and provides meeting updates/summary to relevant team members.


Requirements


Required Skills and Experience

  • Previous experience in project management.
  • Experience in managing and coordinating logistics for training activities, virtual and in-person training events. 
  • Superior multi-tasking and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize assignments, while remaining flexible to changing priorities and new initiatives.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Plain language writing.
  • Proven ability to collaborate and maintain relationships with federal and non-federal partners.  
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including advanced Microsoft Excel and SharePoint.
  • Previous experience with CDC programs, policies, procedures, and communication activities preferred.
  • Ability to obtain government clearance.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future. 

Education and Training

  • A bachelor's degree in a related field, such as Public Health, Project Management, Education, Health Communications, or Business Administration, is required.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. May need to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
