Job description

Position Summary:

We are seeking a friendly, detail-oriented, and highly communicative Patient Account Specialist to join our team. This role is responsible for reviewing patient accounts, handling billing inquiries, and assisting patients with payments and insurance-related concerns. You will play a key role in ensuring a positive patient experience while supporting the financial health of our practice.

Job Details:

  • Patient Account Specialist
  • Tuesday to Saturday | 2 AM to 11 AM (Manila Time)
  • Permanent work from home
  • *Following US Holidays

Responsibilities:

  • Review patient accounts for accuracy and completeness.
  • Contact patients via phone to notify them of outstanding balances, collect payments, set up payment plans, etc.
  • Accurately document all interactions and account activity in our Practice Management (PM) system (Care Cloud).
  • Read and interpret Explanation of Benefits (EOB) from insurance carriers.
  • Verify insurance coverage and patient eligibility when necessary.
  • Handle both incoming and outgoing calls related to patient billing and insurance inquiries.
  • Maintain a professional, friendly, and upbeat demeanor in all patient interactions.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to resolve account discrepancies.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a healthcare or medical billing setting is required.
  • Excellent English communication skills—both spoken and written—are required.
  • Strong customer service orientation with a positive attitude.
  • Ability to understand and explain insurance EOBs to patients.
  • Experience with Care Cloud is a plus, but not required; training will be provided.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
