Job Summary:

The Junior Telecommunications Engineering Specialist will support the implementation and maintenance of telecommunications systems within the CASTLE-NET project. This entry-level role is ideal for individuals with foundational knowledge in telecom or IT, looking to grow their technical skills in a secure and mission-critical environment. This is a remote, full-time position.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in the installation and configuration of telecommunications equipment.
Support routine maintenance and upgrades of telecom systems.
Troubleshoot and resolve telecommunications-related issues.
Collaborate with senior engineers and IT staff to ensure system reliability and performance.
Document configurations, maintenance activities, and issue resolutions.

Required Qualifications:

Associate’s degree in Telecommunications, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
Basic understanding of telecommunications systems and networking principles.
Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

Certifications: CompTIA Network+ or Cisco CCENT.
Prior experience in telecommunications or IT support roles.

Security Clearance:

Active Secret Clearance required at the time of hire.

Compensation & Benefits:

Salary: $55,000 – $70,000 annually
Paid Time Off: 15 days PTO annually
Holidays: 11 paid federal holidays
