Job Summary:

The Junior Telecommunications Engineering Specialist will support the implementation and maintenance of telecommunications systems within the CASTLE-NET project. This entry-level role is ideal for individuals with foundational knowledge in telecom or IT, looking to grow their technical skills in a secure and mission-critical environment. This is a remote, full-time position.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the installation and configuration of telecommunications equipment.
  • Support routine maintenance and upgrades of telecom systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve telecommunications-related issues.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers and IT staff to ensure system reliability and performance.
  • Document configurations, maintenance activities, and issue resolutions.

Required Qualifications:
  • Associate’s degree in Telecommunications, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Basic understanding of telecommunications systems and networking principles.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certifications: CompTIA Network+ or Cisco CCENT.
  • Prior experience in telecommunications or IT support roles.

Security Clearance:
  • Active Secret Clearance required at the time of hire.

Compensation & Benefits:
  • Salary: $55,000 – $70,000 annually
  • Paid Time Off: 15 days PTO annually
  • Holidays: 11 paid federal holidays
  • Retirement: 401(k) with company match
