Job Description

What will you work on?

The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for driving the execution of product life cycle within the global toys portfolio. The person in this role will work closely with large cross-functional teams (Design, Marketing, Engineering, Quality, Packaging, etc.) to manage product development from concept through production. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, establishing critical path/milestones/dependencies to ensure timely and successful delivery of products, identifying risks and opportunities to pre-empt development hurdles, providing escalation management, and working with stakeholders to balance business, design, and technical objectives. The successful candidate will be able to operate in a highly dynamic CPG environment, by exercising considerable judgment in employing methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.

How will you create impact?

  • Establish project plans in collaboration with cross-functional development teams to determine tasks, milestones, resources, planned and actual dates
  • Act as integration lead amongst multi-disciplinary teams and global partners, and executing project plan from concept to production
  • Lead product milestone and integration meetings, in addition to creating action plans with clear deliverables
  • Support licensor meetings, including coordinating approval deliverables across multiple team members and setting agendas based on development timelines
  • Manage project and process optimization, working independently with limited supervision
  • Lead multiple brands of low to high complexity projects from technical schedule aspects, and pre-empt any potential issues
  • Manage programs to time, cost, and quality reflective of business and development objectives
  • Use appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in project scope, schedule, and costs
  • Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools, and techniques
  • Identify, anticipate, and manage risks or issues at the project level
  • Partner with global operations to provide early warning of delays and strategize appropriate solutions in development plans or processes
  • Support and drive cross-functional category teams to manage projects including risks, key handoffs, and deliverables
  • Report and escalate to management as needed; present verbal and written reports defining plans, problems, and resolutions to appropriate levels of management
  • Continuously improve project management toolkits, processes, and methodologies utilized for product development
  • Exercise professionally mature discretion in approach to all aspects of the job

What are your skills and experience?

  • Experience in project management role
  • Experience with plastics, materials, and/or mechanical manufacturing is beneficial,
  • Familiarity with licensor process and approval stages an asset
  • PMP or equivalent certification and familiarity with KPI and metrics analysis plus but not a requirement
  • Experience with end-to-end development tools such as MS Project
  • Experience in creating new processes to integrate new and existing technologies into conventional CPG development
  • Advanced proficiency in creating presentation materials for executive review
  • Open to new processes and methodologies – passionate about best practices with the ability to pivot
