Job Title: Assistant Coach (Seasonal) - Men's Soccer - Recruiting Coordinator

Department: Department of Athletics

Reports to: Head Coach - Men's Soccer

Status: Part-Time, Non-Benefit Eligible

Location: Lisle Campus

Rate: $10,000 Stipend amount paid is pro-rated based on the start date of 9 month assignment

Position Summary: The Athletics Department at Benedictine University seeks and Assistant Coach for Men's Soccer. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to assisting the head coach in all aspects of coaching, practice preparation, game preparation, strategy, recruitment of Prospective Student Athletes, strength training and scheduling in support of the Men's Soccer Program. Adherence to the NCAA Division III rules and regulations, supporting the philosophy, goals and mission of the college and its intercollegiate athletics program, as well as adherence to departmental, university, NACC and NCAA policies and procedures is required.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Assist in the planning, organization and administration of practice.
  • Assist in the game preparation and implantation of game strategies.
  • Assist with recruiting qualified Prospective Student Athletes to the program.
  • Assist in academic support for the Men's Soccer Student Athletes.
  • Assist with player training/recruiting for men's soccer program.

Required Qualifications

Education: High School Graduate/GED Required, Bachelor's Degree Required

Experience: Previous coaching experience at collegiate, club or high school level(s)

Specific Skills: Knowledge of NCAA Division III philosophy, recruitment, rules and regulations

Specific Knowledge, Licenses, Certifications: Yes, Organizational skills, interpersonal skills, and supervisory skills. Valid driver's license required and and CPR/First Aid/ AED certification preferred.

Physical Requirements: Athletics - Ability to handle varying levels of stress while maintaining professional demeanor. Possible lifting, bending, walking, kneeling, stretching, and stooping. Frequent districtwide and statewide travel; frequent prolonged and irregular hours; outdoor exposure to sun/heat or cold weather.

Ability to speak clearly so listeners can understand. Understand the speech of another person.

See details of objects that are less than a few feet away or are more than a few feet away. Must be able to stand for long periods of time. General Customer service and office environment.
