Reporting to the Manager of Technology Risk, the Analyst, Technology Risk will assess, prioritize, and mitigate Technology risks with controls that will protect OMERS assets and information enterprise-wide. This will be accomplished by collaborating with Technology information/process owners to align proposed risk mitigations to their defined Business Unit risk appetite; ensure timely remediation of audit/risk points and responses to compliance requests.

As a member of this team, you will be responsible for:

  • Conduct comprehensive risk assessments of IT systems, applications, and processes to identify potential vulnerabilities and threats.
  • Evaluate the impact and likelihood of identified risks and prioritize them for mitigation.
  • Support the Technology Risk Team to ensure standards are followed and risk mitigations are in place and monitored related to Technology risks, security standards and audit control findings.
  • Assist the Sr. Analyst in preparing risk assessment reports to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Provide analysis of key data points and information gathering to support risk reporting, and coordinate meetings with key stakeholders.
  • Monitor and report on the status of action plans relating to Technology risk, Policy Exceptions and Internal Audit issues
  • Identify opportunities to continually enhance and develop existing technology risk management methodology, policies, processes and tools
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to foster a risk-aware culture within the organization

Education

To succeed in this role, you:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a technology related field or business administration, or related field augmented by industry related training programs and supported by work experience.

Experience

  • Working towards a CISA or equivalent with a minimum of 3-5 years relevant work experience in a risk-related function within the financial services or consulting industries
  • Understanding of IT and security risks, processes, and controls and ability to converse at a technical level.
  • Familiar with COBIT 5.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop trusted collaborative working relationships across multiple stakeholders
  • Demonstrated written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to communicate complex information in a clear, concise and structured manner
  • Self-starter with proven track record of execution and results.
  • Great business judgment, ability to influence others and strong analytical thinking
  • Ability to prepare presentations, status reports, process narratives and workflow diagrams.
  • Computer skills: Expert-level knowledge of Adobe Acrobat and MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, PowerBI, Power Automate
  • Knowledge of enterprise Governance, Risk and Compliance systems (e.g., ServiceNow GRC)
