Job description

Reporting to the Head Women’s Basketball Coach, the Assistant Coach will assist in developing, organizing and administering all aspects of a competitive NCAA Division III Women’s Basketball program. This is a part-time stipend position, paid bi-weekly.

The Assistant Coach must be able to build positive relationships with student-athletes, coaches, staff and campus partners. They will help support the athletic, academic and personal development of the Women’s Basketball team with a commitment to sportsmanship, respect, diversity, equity and inclusion.

  • Assist the Head Coach with various aspects of coaching, such as planning and executing practices, video review, opponent scouting, and game planning
  • Recruit prospective student-athletes.
  • Manage road game travel, including driving the team – when needed – to road games in Pratt Institute vans.
  • Follow NCAA Division III and Atlantic East Conference rules and regulations and pass the annual Coaches Exam
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Basketball Coaching / Playing experience
  • Availability to work mornings and weekends for practices and games is a must
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and the ability to drive a 12-passenger van
  • Ability to thrive in a diverse and fast-paced environment is crucial
  • Demonstrate effective and excellent leadership, motivational, organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously and with minimal supervision.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint

Preferred Qualifications

  • Basketball coaching experience at the collegiate level
  • Familiarity with NCAA Division III rules
  • Familiarity with Synergy and Hudl
  • Collegiate recruiting experience
  • AED/CPR/First Aid Certification
