Position Overview:

Delivers engaging and effective training programs and classes—both in-person and virtually—using best practices in adult education to support the development of leaders, managers, and employees across the organization. Designs and facilitates learning experiences that meet a range of developmental needs, with a focus on practical application, learner engagement, and measurable outcomes.

Serves as a consultant on the design, delivery, and implementation of leadership and management development programs and classes, including workforce development, performance management, onboarding, and other enterprise-wide learning initiatives. Applies principles of instructional design to create high-impact learning content using a variety of modalities, such as e-learning, instructor-led training (ILT), virtual instructor-led training (vILT), blended learning, and microlearning.

Assesses and evaluates training effectiveness and other talent development solutions—including coaching and consulting—using qualitative and quantitative methods. Collaborates with internal teams and external consultants to ensure the delivery of high-quality, scalable, and cost-effective development offerings that align with business priorities and strategic goals.

Job Description:

This is a hybrid role, and candidate must live within the Northern California Sutter Health footprint.
Candidate must come on site as needed for trainings, meetings, etc. and has the opportunity to work from home when not required to be on site approximately 2 days a week.

EDUCATION:
Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.

  • Bachelor's: Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Nursing or clinical specialty/discipline or related field or equivalent education/experience



TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:

  • 5 years recent relevant experience


SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

  • Knowledge of how to lead curriculum, training, and other development programs.
  • Knowledge of training and development program assessment, design, delivery (both virtual and in-person), and evaluation.
  • Experience in developing and facilitating leadership and management development programs across diverse organizational levels.
  • Understand how to define and deploy effective training and development processes and associated tools.
  • Knowledge of organizational development methodologies.
  • Familiarity with learning technology tools (e.g., learning management systems, virtual training platforms, digital content creation tools).
  • Knowledge of or experience with artificial intelligence (AI) applications in learning and development is highly beneficial.
  • Ability to communicate through verbal and written means, with tact and diplomacy, and to present information to a variety of audiences.
  • Analytical and conceptual skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to influence others by persuasion, negotiation, and problem solving.
  • Collaboration skills to facilitate open sharing of information and cooperation with various stakeholders.
  • Ability to establish trust and credibility, and to interact and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the performance of the role’s duties while respecting cultural and linguistic differences and fostering an inclusive work environment.
  • Organizational skills to effectively manage and/or re-prioritize activities and projects to meet deadlines while maintaining a high degree of responsiveness.
  •  Ability to work effectively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment with changing business priorities.
  • Ability to maintain and work discreetly with confidential information.
  • Ability to use essential applications and/or databases associated with the role’s duties and responsibilities.

Pay Range is $53.59 to $80.39 / hour

The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs. Base pay is just one piece of the total rewards program offered by Sutter Health. Eligible roles also qualify for a comprehensive benefits package.
