The following position is to join our RTX Process and Systems Transformation (PST) Team:

RTX has an opening for an Sr. Manager, Logistics (ERP Systems) (Sr. Manager, Manufacturing Engineering – Operations) role.

Initiative Overview:

RTX launched oneRTX focused on leveraging the scale of our three business units to improve collaboration, cost structure, productivity and performance. The oneRTX: Process & Systems Transformation (PST) project is one of several major, multi-year initiatives under oneRTX that align to our goals as a company and optimize how we work, how we operate and how we deliver to our customers so that we can achieve our full potential.

The intent of oneRTX: PST is to harmonize processes, tools and metrics across RTX, while deploying a common enterprise resource management platform – SAP’s S/4 HANA. The result will be a common user experience across the businesses, real-time visibility into critical data, and automation of manual tasks to enable all employees to focus on value-add activities.  With processes optimized and harmonized, we can leverage our scale so teams across RTX can share resources, leverage talent seamlessly and identify efficiencies. We will reduce cost and effort and improve performance as we break down silos and establish consistent ways of working. 

Role Overview:

As the Sr. Manager of Logistics for our ERP Transformation project, you will play a pivotal role in leading the development and optimization Logistics of processes across our Aerospace and Defense operations. Reporting directly to the Functional Planning leader, you will be responsible for designing and implementing comprehensive process maps that integrate seamlessly with our new ERP system. Your expertise will drive strategic improvements and operational efficiencies, ensuring that our Logistics functions align with industry best practices and organizational goals. This role requires a dynamic leader with proven experience in managing complex implementation projects, influencing senior executives, and driving cross-functional collaboration across multiple business units. Your ability to communicate effectively, lead change initiatives, and deliver innovative solutions will be critical to the successful transformation of our Logistics operations and overall business performance. 

The Logistics team on Plan to Sustain plays a crucial role in leading and executing enterprise resource planning (ERP) initiatives to optimize business processes and drive operational excellence. This position requires a strategic mindset, strong leadership skills, and deep expertise in ERP systems and implementation methodologies.

What You Will Do:

  • Project Planning: Develop and manage project plans, timelines, and budgets related to Logistics process development and ERP integration.
  • ERP Integration: Oversee the integration of Logistics processes into the new ERP system, ensuring that all required capabilities are effectively supported.
  • Executive Communication: Effectively communicate and influence VPs and other senior leaders on the status, benefits, and implications of the ERP transformation project.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks associated with Logistics process changes and ERP implementation.
  • Integrate Best Practices: Ensure Logistics process maps incorporate industry best practices and are tailored to meet the specific needs of all RTX business units.
  • Change Management:  Lead change management efforts to ensure smooth adoption of new processes and systems by Logistics teams.
  • Process Optimization: Identify opportunities for process improvement and optimization within ERP systems, leveraging technology to streamline workflows and enhance productivity.
  • Vendor Management: Oversee relationships with ERP vendors and ensure delivery of high-quality solutions and services.
  • Risk Management: Proactively identify and mitigate risks associated with ERP implementations, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and data security standards.
  • Performance Monitoring: Define key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to track the success of ERP initiatives, providing regular updates and reports to senior leadership.
  • Travel up to 10-15% domestically

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Minimum of 10+ years’ experience in Material Planning Operations and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM), Business Administration or related discipline or equivalent combination of related work experience and schooling in lieu of degree; Advanced degree and 7+ years’ related work experience
  • Experience in Warehousing, Logistics, and/or Property Management
  • Experience working in an existing SAP environment (SAP ECC)
  • Current U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract

  • Proven track record of leading large-scale projects and complex initiatives, particularly in the Aerospace and Defense industry
  • Broad management and leadership knowledge to lead project teams

The salary range for this role is 124,000 USD - 250,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
