Director of Program Management Office (PMO)

As Director of the Program Management Office (PMO), you will lead the strategic execution engine of the company. You will be responsible for establishing and scaling a high-performing PMO that oversees cross-functional, high-impact programs across engineering, sales, finance, customer success, supply chain, and the executive leadership team. This role ensures alignment between company objectives and execution, promotes governance, and drives predictable program delivery across product, engineering, operations, and go-to-market functions. 

You will play a key role in shaping how programs are prioritized, tracked, and communicated, and you will be instrumental in delivering value to customers through tightly coordinated product and solution deployments. This position requires a deep understanding of both hardware and software product lifecycles, and an ability to navigate and drive alignment across technical and business domains in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. 

ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS 

• Define and execute the vision and roadmap for the PMO aligned with strategic company goals and OKRs.
• Lead high-priority programs end-to-end—from scoping to post-deployment—ensuring visibility, efficiency, and accountability.
• Establish governance frameworks for program intake, prioritization, milestone tracking, and delivery review.
• Manage the cross-functional program portfolio, ensuring alignment, risk management, and delivery of outcomes across hardware, firmware, and software initiatives.
• Develop and implement best practices for program planning, execution, status reporting, and post-mortem analysis.
• Own tooling and systems for program visibility (e.g., Jira, Notion, or others).
• Collaborate with C-suite and functional leaders to translate strategic priorities into actionable execution plans.
• Act as the central coordination point for cross-team efforts, including go-to-market launches, customer rollouts, and internal operational improvements.
• Lead change management strategies to ensure smooth adoption of new processes, tools, and ways of working.
• Build, lead, and coach a growing team of program and project managers.
• Promote a culture of operational excellence, continuous improvement, and cross-functional collaboration. Mentor team members in program/project management methodologies, stakeholder engagement, and delivery excellence. 

QUALIFICATIONS  

• 8–12+ years of experience in program, project, or portfolio management, including 3–5 years leading a PMO or strategic program office.
• Demonstrated success managing complex programs that include both hardware and software components, ideally within IIoT, SaaS, and/or Salesforce.
• Track record of building scalable PMO processes in fast-paced, high-growth tech environments like venture-backed startups.
• Strong understanding of SaaS models, embedded systems, and enterprise deployment strategies.
• Outstanding leadership, communication, and cross-functional influence skills.
• Deep proficiency in program planning tools and frameworks.  
• PMP, PgMP, or equivalent certification is preferred
• Expertise in agile, waterfall, and hybrid delivery models.
• Background in systems engineering, product management, or operations a plus.
• Experience working with executive teams and board-level stakeholders.
