What you will do 

As Johnson Controls accelerates business growth and deploys region-for-region strategy in the Americas, the Refrigeration business unit has an opportunity for an experienced sales leader in the US. The VP Sales - Refrigeration will be responsible for leading revenue generation for a ~$500m business in the refrigeration sector, focusing on driving market and revenue growth while developing a high-performing sales team. 

 

How you will do it 

  • Develop a comprehensive sales strategy and growth plan to exceed market share and revenue targets in the refrigeration market. 
  • Develop new channel opportunities, marketing campaigns creating demand and lead generation. 
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with key distributor partners, ensuring operational excellence in alignment with our strategy. 
  • Assess and evaluate market trends, economic factors, and competitor analysis to define and execute the go-to-market strategy for the refrigeration segment. 
  • Lead the development and attainment of key sales, product, and profit targets established for the refrigeration business. 
  • Provide strategic direction and leadership to the North America sales team. 
  • Build and foster relationships with end customers to leverage networks for business opportunities and partnerships. 
  • Generate and manage forecasts for sales secured, delivery, and sales backlog, ensuring timely reporting and resolution of any sales-related issues. 
  • Work closely with internal teams, including Operations, Engineering, Finance, and HR, to coordinate resources and meet objectives. 
  • Implement a talent strategy to attract, develop, and retain critical sales talent within the refrigeration business. 

 

What we look for: 

Required 

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Minimum 12 years of sales/marketing experience; at least 5 years in a Sales Leadership capacity

  • Proven track record of leading and driving growth with a North American sales organization.

  • Strong understanding of market dynamics, including entry strategies and regulatory environments within the refrigeration industry. 

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels. 

  • Experience implementing and leading change in sales processes and cross-selling initiatives. 

  • Analytical skills to interpret data and develop strategic insights for decision-making. 

  • Flexibility for travel up to 30-40% of the time. 

 

Preferred 

  • Advanced degree (MBA, MS Engineering, etc) 

  • Experience within the refrigeration or HVAC sector 

  • Experience managing a P&L
