Firewall Engineer

NexGen Data Systems is looking for a Firewall Engineer to support one of our Government customers.  This engineer will provide network security for a large enterprise network.  They will coordinate with multiple network subject matter experts and have frequent interaction with internal and external customers.   

Roles and Responsibilities:  

•  Troubleshoot network security suite solutions.
• Work in a team setting making recommendations related to troubleshooting, device configuration, and documentation.
• Resolve issues in a timely manner dealing with a variety of different network devices and protocols following applicable reporting formats
• Perform detailed technical analyses for a system, subsystem or system elements
• Exercise judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results
• Use professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways

Required/Desired Skills:

• 6+ years of experience working in a professional IT environment with an end user and system support.
• Extensive experience with Cisco devices (routers/ switches/ firewalls)
• Experience working with and troubleshooting Palo Alto Firewalls
• Hands on experience with F5 devices
• High School Diploma/ GED, Bachelors degree preferred
• Secret level clearance or higher required
• 8140 compliance (Active Security and OS certifications)
