Job description

Those offerings include devices such as switches, sensors, data communication modules, touch input panels, actuators and power inductors; electronic shifters, remote keyless entry systems and other automotive units; consumer electronics like car navigation and audio-visual systems; and systems and services such as digital keys based on smartphone app and blockchain technology, and remote monitoring.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Audio System Development & Innovation:

  • Operate as ‘voice of customer’ for the design and development of high-performance automotive audio systems, including speakers, amplifiers, subwoofers, and integration
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams within engineering to optimize performance, costs, and execution of POC’s, demo vehicle builds, development vehicle testing, etc.
  • Support vehicle preparation for customer demos and experience events, for targeted marketing opportunities

Testing & System Validation:

  • Support bench and in-vehicle testing of audio systems and systems using both laboratory and real-world evaluation methods for audio, ANC, and hands-free performance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges related to system development and performance optimization.
  • Explore new measurement techniques for assessing audio performance and durability.

 Research & Exploration of New Markets:

  • Investigate emerging trends in automotive audio, consumer electronics, and adjacent industries to identify potential new product opportunities that align with current expertise.
  • Evaluate new concepts, technologies, materials, and transducer designs that can enhance audio offerings.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE AND/OR TRAINING
    • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, acoustics, or equivalent experience.
    • 5+ years of related experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment

 

  • LICENSES OR CERTIFICATIONS
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license required

 

  • TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT:
    • General office equipment, including, but not limited to, a computer, printer, photocopier, shredder, telephone, fax machine, and calculator. 
    • Hand tools including, but not limited to, a hammer, measuring devices, wrench, and level. 

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of acoustics, DSP, and psychoacoustics.
  • Fundamental knowledge of vehicle powertrain operation.
  • Experience with testing tools such as Audio Precision
  • Familiarity with vehicle communication protocols (CAN) and infotainment system integration.
  • Hands-on experience with prototype development and system tuning
