R.J. Corman Railroad Company is hiring a Trainer - Rail Transportation based out of the Houston, TX area.

Accountability:

The Trainer position will facilitate and administer the full-cycle training process for R. J. Corman Railroad Company’s Training Center and field training services. Job duties include:

Facilitate new hire training courses
Lead in-person, on-the-job training
Administer programming for new hire certification and recertification classes
Facilitate rules classes for trainee certifications and certification renewals
Administer certification and renewal testing
Collaborate with operational groups to ensure rule compliance and training administration
Observe all operation and safety procedures
Maintain an excellent safety record
Maintaining an inventory of PPE, radios, switch keys, etc. to be distributed
Other duties as assigned

Physical Requirements:

Requires standing, walking, climbing stairs and ladders, and balancing in a safe manner
Must demonstrate vision and hearing abilities relevant to performing duties safely
Requires stooping, kneeling, and crouching
Able to lift and carry objects weighing up to 80lbs
Able to push and pull with up to 150lbs of force
30% travel required

Specialized or Technical Knowledge, or Education and Experience:

FRA Conductor and Engineer certification required with 5+ years relevant experience (10 years preferred). Some knowledge in Maintenance of Way and Mechanical standards, Familiar with and able to apply safety rules and procedures, Self-motivated with good communication skills. Operations management experience beneficial.
