Job description

Job Title: IT Director

The IT Director oversees the organization’s technology strategy, infrastructure, and systems to ensure efficient, secure, and scalable operations. They lead the IT team, manage budgets and projects, and align technology initiatives with business goals.

Responsibilities: 

  • Responsible for, maintenance, and application of all computer programs, systems, and technology utilized within the practice
  • Works with Healthcare systems admin to coordinate implementation of new applications.
  • Evaluates and implements new programs and adjusts current procedures with the goal of improving efficiencies and maintaining compliance with CMS / MIPS reporting guidelines, i.e. Ocular Innovations, Focal, Doc-Alert, etc.
  • Assures that systems admin has availability to oversee all EMR, QPP (MIPS), HIPAA, OSHA and ICD-10 performance and compliance; provides direction, counseling, and assistance to all department managers as requested
  • Help to establish and maintain secure, accurate transfer of clinical data and consent forms between clinic locations and the KWEC Surgery Center / Lasik Center
  • Reviews and maintains electronic and paper consent forms to remain in legal/regulatory compliance for clinical, surgical, anesthesia, and premium services in association with the Director of Nursing and Executive Director
  • Manages all security privileges for clinical and finance systems (practice management, EHR, Quickbooks, Stripe credit card terminals, MOBIT patient communication, etc.)
  • Advises Marketing Director on viability and security of patient communication methods and messages
  • Assists in developing patient satisfaction improvement methods, direct patient communication avenues, and data mining
  • Manages phone system and assists with call center process issues as requested
  • Acts as primary liaison and contact for all processes and projects involving MedNetworx (3rd party IT provider), Arrowhead, Secur-serv – coordinating new applications, upgrades, trouble shooting
  • Responsible for all physical technology acquisition as well as ongoing security and compliance: purchasing, pricing evaluations, Installations & maintenance contracts
  • Obtains and distributes work from home technology resources such as laptops, softphones, docking stations, etc.
  • Remains on call for “special problems & projects” which may require data acquisition and analysis, creative problem solving, and solution development

Specialty Roles:

  • Directs project coordination for new site construction, renovation, and practice acquisition to ensure all power, data, and security requirements are met
  • Procures and maintains physical building security measures such as alarm systems and camera monitoring, including the managing of recording obtained by security cameras
  • Responsible for initial onboarding and training of new physicians on computer systems and compliance policies & practices
  • Advises and assists all managers on the integration with EMR of potential clinical equipment and coordinates set up of new equipment
  • Advises and coordinates disaster recovery efforts to allow departments to get back up and running as swiftly as possible following physical or technological crises

Qualifications:

Experience: Candidate's for this position should have had a minimum of 5 years of working experience in a management-level IT position within a fast-paced and constantly evolving environment. 

Communication Skills: Candidate's must possess strong communication skills both in written and verbal form.

Interpersonal Skills: The Director - Field Services Solutions will be empathetic to customer requirements while demonstrating the ability to be a pro-active advocate to partner and work against tight timelines and other constraints.

Leadership/People Skills: The candidate must demonstrate leadership and mentoring skills, having an ability to influence a cross-functional group towards a unified direction.
