Provides a safe and secure environment for employees, patients, visitors, physicians and property, preventing thefts, assaults, injuries, and acts of vandalism, along with the control and enforcement of parking and traffic regulations.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education - Graduation from high school or the equivalent.
Experience - Minimum six months prior experience in security preferred.
Licensure - Maryland State Police (MSP) Security Guard Card certification preferred OR must be able to complete Maryland Guard Card application within 90 days of employment, be approved by MSP for Guard Card Cert, and maintain Guard Card Certification during employment once achieved. BLS (CPR) in compliance with policy required. Must obtain De-Escalation training within 90 days and maintain throughout employment.
For use of Meritus Vehicles: Valid Driver’s License, A driving record as required by law for vehicle expected to operate. No record of moving violations in the past three years is preferred. Certified copy of driving record is required to be provided by team member annually on date of birth. Acknowledgement with signature to “Attestation A” of Meritus Vehicle Management Use and Control policy.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities - Some knowledge of Security/Law Enforcement practices, good verbal/written skills and abillity to communicate and deal effectively with staff, patients, visitors and physicians.
