Job Description:

General Function / Summary 

The Technical Business Analyst is responsible for collaborating closely with the Project Management Office (PMO), IT, and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into actionable user stories, ensuring that solutions align with business goals and product strategy.

Essential Duties:

  • Requirements Gathering: Collaborate with stakeholders across departments to gather and document technical requirements that support project objectives. Ensure that all requirements are detailed, accurate, and meet quality standards.

  • User Story Development: Translate and document business needs into clear, concise user stories and acceptance criteria for both on-shore and off-shore IT teams. Aim for user stories that are actionable and ensuring clarity and completeness.

  • Project Backlog Management: Assist in effective change management disciplines including but not limited to grooming and prioritizing the project backlog, ensuring alignment with project timelines and goals. Maintain, manage and organize backlog with a target of reducing backlog items each sprint cycle.

  • Agile Participation: Participate in Agile ceremonies, including planning sessions, stand-ups, retrospectives, and reviews, to foster collaboration and transparency. Effectively communicate updates and roadblocks, and influence improvement in team adoption of agility over time.

  • Support Throughout Development: Support quality assurance and development teams throughout the Agile lifecycle, ensuring clarity and alignment on requirements. Maintain an acceptable response time for inquiries regarding requirements to enhance communication and workflow.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with business stakeholders, Business Analysts, Development, QA teams, and the PMO to ensure effective end-to-end delivery of projects. Facilitate regular touchpoints and feedback sessions, aiming to understand stakeholders’ needs and requirements for project delivery.

  • Adaptability: Adapt to evolving priorities and product needs in a dynamic environment, coordinating with the PMO to manage changes effectively. Demonstrate flexibility by successfully managing multiple projects simultaneously without compromising quality.

  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and recommend solutions to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Minimum Education and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field

  • 2+ years of experience as a Technical Business Analyst or Product Analyst in a technology-driven environment

  • Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), Certified Scrum Master (CSM), IIBA Agile Analysis Certification (IIBA-AAC), or relevant certification preferred

  • Experience working closely with business stakeholders, Product Owners, Development, and QA teams

  • Proficiency in Agile methodologies and the software development lifecycle (SDLC)

  • Demonstrated success in writing user stories and managing backlog items

  • Familiarity with fintech, payment processing, or SaaS platforms is preferred

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • High attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively

  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work cross-functionally

  • Experience using tools such as Jira, Confluence, Figma, and Excel

  • Understanding of UX principles and basic API concepts is a plus

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office programs
