Job Description:
Key Responsibilities
Design, implement, and maintain enterprise Windows Server platforms (AD, ADFS, GPOs, DNS, DHCP) and lead VMware ESXi/vCenter (or Hyper-V) virtualization environments.
Drive automation for patching, provisioning, monitoring, and compliance checks using PowerShell, Ansible, SCCM/WSUS, and PowerCLI. Optimize resource utilization (DRS/HA).
Lead DR failover/failback exercises for virtual workloads (RP4VM) and represent the Windows domain in DR tests, ensuring robust backup and recovery solutions.
Implement security baselines (e.g., CIS), manage vulnerability remediations, and ensure system lifecycle compliance with standards like NDMO and NCA.
Lead root cause analysis for major incidents across Windows and virtual environments, and mentor L1/L2 team members.
Oversee integration of virtualization with storage, network overlays, and backup solutions (e.g., Commvault).
Maintain comprehensive documentation (CMDB integrity, runbooks, VM lifecycle).
Required Skills & Qualifications
Advanced experience with Windows Server (2016/2019/2022), Active Directory, ADFS, GPO, DNS, DHCP.
Deep experience in VMware (vSphere, vCenter, SRM, RP4VM) or Hyper-V, including virtual networking and storage mapping.
Highly proficient in scripting (PowerShell, Ansible, PowerCLI) and tools like SCCM/WSUS.
Strong understanding of system hardening, ITSM, and compliance frameworks (NDMO, NCA). Familiarity with hybrid environments.
Bachelor's degree in IT, Engineering, or related field. 8+ years of combined experience in Windows Server and virtualization engineering.
VMware Certified Professional (VCP) or Microsoft equivalent (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate), ITIL Foundation preferred
