The Creative Project Manager will oversee the definition and monitoring of project scopes, budgets, milestones, timelines, and deliverables. This role requires exceptional organizational and time management skills, strong internal communication abilities, and sharp problem-solving expertise. The position will act as the key point of integration for creative projects, ensuring seamless coordination across both Design and Production (Media).

Position Information: This is a regular, full-time position, reporting to the Senior Director of Operations.

 

Compensation: Base pay is anticipated to be between $69,886.00 and $95,000.00 per year. Eligible employees may also receive incentive/commission/annual bonus pay based on individual and/or company performance. Compensation may vary based on factors such as, but not limited to, individual skills, experience, training, education/certifications, geographic location, internal equity, and local market conditions.

 

Location: In this US-based position your location will be hybrid; with an on-site requirement of 2–3 days per week. The preferred candidate will be located in or near Petaluma, California, as our studio (office) is based in Petaluma.

 

Travel: You can also expect up to approximately 5% travel, so be sure you have a valid driver’s license and automobile insurance and a clean driving record for at least the preceding 39 months.

Envision Your Experience.

In this role you’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Manage and oversee multiple time-sensitive projects simultaneously, working directly with creative teams to ensure projects get delivered on time and on budget.
  • Partner directly with teams to clarify deliverables, understand the need, and address creative requirements.
  • Develop project schedules, budgets and key communications to ensure the creative team and other key team members are fully briefed.
  • Understand all facets of the project/s - answering all internal and external questions pertinent to the project.
  • Navigate the relationships among content types, cross-departmental processes and competing commitments.
  • Collaborate with various content groups and their stakeholders to find common ground for shared milestones and bring groups into alignment when commitments are at odds.
  • Monitor and track all parts of the project; produce and provide proactive recommendations to ensure projects are delivered on time.
  • Facilitate communication and approvals between creative teams and necessary departments.
  • Manage and mitigate day-to-day problems, ensuring strong and effective communication in difficult and time-sensitive situations.
  • Write process documentation as a reference and artifact for the organization’s operations.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of AI tools and experience in using AI tools to create, edit and review content.
  • Maintain consistent management practices and ensure effective support for creative teams.
  • Other duties as required.

 

Share Your Expertise.

Experience, education, and qualifications essential for success in this role, include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communication, Business, or related field, and at least 2 years of experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of 3 years of project management experience, preferably in a fast-paced agency or company environment, managing multiple creative projects simultaneously.
  • A solid understanding of creative process, brand standards, and print and digital deliverables.
  • A proven ability to deliver large- and small-scale projects on time and on budget.
  • Demonstrated expertise working with creative teams to ensure delivery of high-quality deliverables.
  • Strong knowledge in print, digital and design production schedules from concept to delivery.
  • Familiarity with required file type by asset (print, digital, etc.).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • An approach to work that is self-motivated, quick, assertive, measured, calm, and collaborative.
  • Previous experience with web-based projects and within an interactive agency a plus.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Smartsheet project management platform with a focus on automation to reduce coordination.
  • Experience using AI tools to increase efficiency in content creation and content production processes.
