Provides specialized services and support to the Department of Human Services related to the Students in Recovery Program by coordinating events, providing education and training, assisting in program support, and community outreach. The position will additionally focus on developing materials, maintaining reports and assisting in the planning and development of the Students in Recovery Program within the Department of Human Services. Description of Duties and Tasks
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Position may require working remotely, in a virtual environment, or/at a campus-based location.
Will be required to attend departmental and campus related meetings.
Serve as a member of the Students in Recovery Advisory Committee.
Respond to student inquiries, as well as assist and monitor participation in the Students in Recovery Program.
Support students in their recovery, education, and life issues.
Schedule and coordinate virtual or face to face Students in Recovery Program meetings.
Work with the Department of Human Services faculty to assure the compliance, confidentiality, and safety of all students.
Assist in training internal and external stakeholders related to the Students in Recovery Program.
Under the guidance of the Department of Human Services faculty, develop and distribute programmatic and marketing materials related to the Students in Recovery Program.
Timely response to emails, phone calls, and walk-in correspondence of interested students, campus, local, state, and national community members.
Demonstrating proficiency using computer applications, social media platforms, or other current learning technologies for effectively engaging a diverse student population.
Under the guidance of the Department of Human Services faculty serves as a liaison with various academic departments, counselors, advisors, tutors, and professors.
Assist with the Department of Human Services student retention and persistence, college-related community outreach, external networking, and recruiting of students.
Knowledge
Must possess required knowledge and be able to explain and demonstrate, with or without reasonable accommodations, that the essential functions of the job can be performed.
Knowledge of addiction and recovery.
Knowledge of current cross-cultural competency practices.

Certified Peer Specialist approved by accredited training provider or in the process of obtaining.
