Tate & Lyle Global Shared Services Centre in Łódź is the principal location for handling the business support activities and processes for Tate & Lyle, both transactional as well as value-added business partnering support. Starting operations in 2011 with less than 50 people, we now have over 350 employees supporting operations globally. We have 30 teams operating in Łódź to provide service in the areas of Finance, Customer Service, Procurement, HR/People Services, and IS/IT

ROLE PURPOSE

The role relates to US Indirect Tax Compliance, including tax return preparation, 1099 submissions, and SAP document verification. The position supports taxability decisions, ensures accurate payments, and builds partnerships with US business units.

Accountabilities:

  • Preparation of US Indirect Tax Compliance from the local unit in USA.
  • Support the submission of 1099s form as miscellaneous income for different states.
  • Ongoing verification and accounting of purchasing documents as control of tax material group on SAP for purchase requisitions and purchase orders.
  • Preparing tax adjusting journal entries, reconcile GL accounts, accounts analysis to support reporting. Work closely with AP, GL, Treasury and Procurement. Support formal external/ internal audits, and refund claim.
    Detailed analyses of vendor transactions (accounts payable) for creating sales and use tax reports.
  • Support the supervisor on making decisions for taxability determination; sales tax calculations; tax exceptions rules.
  • Timely and efficient prepare/ file of tax returns with US state taxing authorities.
  • Ensure that all manual payments are released accurately.
  • Develop strong relationship as Partner with US Business.
  • Focus on improvements that aim to improve the reporting preparation process.
  • Resolve problems/issues/escalations that can arise, and resolve the problems by providing options to the direct supervisor.

Skills and Experience:

  • VAT/SUT Specialist
  • SAP, other ERP systems
  • Advanced Excel
  • 2-3 years VAT accounting and Tax reporting experience
  • University degree in Finance/Accounting
  • Understanding of US/European Indirect tax legislation
  • Organized, detailed, open to learn
