Job description

About the role:

As a Senior Pricing Advisor, you’ll play a key role in shaping AmeriVet’s pricing strategy by blending data-driven insights with your deep understanding of veterinary operations. Supporting a network of 200+ practices, you’ll develop and execute pricing recommendations that drive clinic performance, improve operational efficiency, and encourage the adoption of best practices.

Reporting to the Senior Director, Pricing and Revenue Analytics, you’ll collaborate cross-functionally with various stakeholders to evaluate current pricing, uncover opportunities, and lead the rollout of strategic initiatives. Success in this role requires strong analytical skills, hands-on knowledge of veterinary workflows, and the ability to turn insights into practical, high-impact actions.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop Strategic, Data-Driven Pricing Recommendations: Leverage your veterinary expertise and analytical skills to identify pricing opportunities that improve clinic performance and support best practice adoption. Analyze a broad range of data and segment clinics by key attributes to uncover patterns, identify gaps, and shape targeted recommendations and long-term strategy.

  • Lead Annual Price Increase: Oversee the annual price increase process in partnership with field operations and support office stakeholders. Use financial and operational benchmarks (e.g., pricing zones) alongside market and competitive intelligence to deliver clinic-specific guidance and ensure optimal regional positioning.

  • Develop Pricing Zones: Support the creation of pricing zones by analyzing clinic characteristics, regional trends, and market dynamics to group similar clinics. These groupings will help inform pricing strategy, enhance benchmarking, and support harmonization efforts.

  • Build Reporting Tools: Develop reports and dashboards that offer clear visibility and actionable insights into pricing performance and highlight overall commercial impact by tracking price, volume, and mix trends at both the category and SKU level. These tools will support data-driven decisions and empower stakeholders to identify opportunities, monitor progress, and guide strategy across the network.

  • Execution & Compliance: Lead the end-to-end execution of pricing updates, ensuring accurate implementation in the practice management system (PIMS). Monitor price, volume, and mix shifts pre and post implementation to evaluate effectiveness. Collaborate with operations to share insights and resolve discrepancies.

  • Lead Training Initiatives: Design and deliver training programs for clinic staff and field teams focused on pricing and billing best practices. Your efforts will help build confidence and empower teams to manage price more effectively.

  • Manage & Execute Projects: Drive pricing-related projects from planning to completion, ensuring alignment with strategic commercial goals and timelines. Provide regular updates to stakeholders, including senior leadership, and collaborate with teams across finance, analytics, medical leadership, and marketing to ensure coordination.

  • Drive Continuous Improvement: Regularly evaluate performance and identify areas for refinement based on results and operational feedback. Apply a test-and-learn mindset to enhance pricing effectiveness over time.

  • Ad-hoc Field Support: Provide timely, expert support for pricing inquiries and clinic-specific challenges, serving as a trusted advisor to the field.

Qualifications

  • Data Analysis Experience: 2+ years of experience analyzing data to identify trends, generate insights, and support pricing and operational decision-making. Proven ability to turn complex datasets into actionable strategies that drive results.

  • Veterinary Background: Minimum 1 year in a veterinary setting with strong knowledge of medical products, services, and billing workflows.

  • PIMS Proficiency: Experience with one or more practice management systems (e.g., Avimark, Cornerstone, Infinity) and the ability to quickly adapt to new platforms.

  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to navigate sensitive conversations and lead change collaboratively.

  • Technical Proficiency: Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Office 365 Suite; experience with data visualization tools is an asset.

  • Adaptability & Multitasking: Comfortable operating in a dynamic, high-growth environment with the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.

  • Independent & Collaborative: Self-motivated and able to work independently while also thriving in cross-functional team settings.

  • Remote & Travel Requirements: This is a remote role with limited travel (less than 10%) to attend key meetings at our support office.
