JOB SUMMARY

The Health Information Management TL (Team Lead) is responsible for ensuring the timely completion of daily operations of the HIM division, as well as training and quality monitoring of staff.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION

For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation.

Minimum Required:

• Completion of medical terminology course within one year of hire.

Preferred/Optional:

• Associates degree in HIM strongly preferred.

• Completion of medical terminology course at time of hire.

EXPERIENCE 

Minimum Required:

• Three years of experience in health information management.

• In lieu of experience, coursework or completion of an HIM program will be considered.  

• Experience with electronic health records.

Preferred/Optional:

• Experience performing quality audits strongly preferred.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES 

The following licensure(s), certification(s), registration(s), etc., are required for this position. Licenses with restrictions are subject to review to determine if restrictions are substantially related to the position.
