Job Title: People and Culture Generalist

Description

The People and Culture Generalist is a key member of the HR team, responsible for supporting and enhancing the employee experience across the full employee lifecycle. This role manages core HR functions including recruitment, payroll coordination, onboarding, offboarding, leave administration, and system oversight, while serving as the first point of contact for employee questions and support. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, approachable, and committed to maintaining an inclusive, compliant, and high-performing workplace.

Job Type: Full-time

Location: Remote with occasional travel

Rate:  $65-$85k, plus bonus

Reporting to:  People Operations Manager

Primary Responsibilities Include:

HR Systems & Process Management

  • Maintain and manage all People and Culture systems (e.g., HRIS, ATS, payroll, benefits platforms).
  • Ensure data accuracy, support reporting, and drive process improvements through system optimization.

·        Maintain UKG Learning by uploading new courses and archiving old courses monthly

  • Lead or support the implementation of new HR tools and technologies.
  • Manage active driver spreadsheet.

Recruitment & Talent Acquisition

  • Manage full cycle recruiting including: posting positions, screening candidates, coordinating interviews and making final offer.
  • Maintain job descriptions.

Payroll Coordination

  • Collect and verify payroll data such as new hires, terminations, time off, and deductions.
  • Coordinate with finance or external providers to ensure accurate, timely payroll processing.
  • Respond to employee payroll inquiries and resolve any issues promptly.

Onboarding & Offboarding

  • Manage all aspects of the onboarding process, including preparing offer letters, new hire paperwork, orientation, and system access.
  • Coordinate offboarding tasks such equipment return and system deactivation.
  • Manage stay/exit interview data
  • Ensure all onboarding and offboarding checklists are completed in a timely and compliant manner.

Employee Leave Administration

  • Track and administer all employee leaves, including FMLA, personal leave, PTO, and other time-off policies.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and applicable laws.
  • Serve as the point of contact for employees navigating leave processes.

Employee Support & Communication

  • Act as the primary gateway for employee HR-related questions, providing accurate and timely support or triaging to other team members as needed.
  • Foster a welcoming, inclusive, and responsive People and Culture environment.

 

The successful People and Culture Generalist has:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 5+ years of HR experience across multiple functions, preferably in a generalist capacity.
  • Working knowledge of employment laws, HR best practices, and compliance requirements.
  • Experience managing or working within HR systems (HRIS, ATS, payroll platforms).
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and professionalism.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
