About the Role:

The Associate Director of HR is responsible for implementing strategies and programs supporting the goals of the business. This role will focus on organizational development, employee learning and development, and culture. This position will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer while working to build and maintain strong relationships with the leadership team and provide advice, execution and support on talent management/recruitment/development, team dynamics, communications, employee engagement, and longer-term organizational planning. The Associate Director of Human Resources will help build the team who can effectively scale our organization, while maintaining the critical elements of our culture and identity.

Primary Responsibilities:

Strategic HR Leadership

  • Serve as a thought partner to the CEO and leadership team on organization design, succession planning, and talent optimization.
  • Prepare Board and investor updates on workforce metrics, DEI progress, and total‑rewards benchmarking.

Human Resources Management

  • Provide leadership/management coaching and feedback to HR team members
  • Provide operational HR support to all business units
  • Support the organization through coaching & mentoring the HR team in the talent acquisition process, including sourcing, interviewing, onboarding and offboarding activities
  • Partner with key stakeholders to identify organizational goals and priorities and translate priorities into development and implementation of HR related solutions.
  • Proactively identify potential roadblocks and opportunities and leverage HR expertise and other resources to provide input and solutions.
  • Partner with the leadership team to maintain and preserve company culture during a high growth phase.
  • Advise and counsel management regarding appropriate disciplinary actions to create consistency and ensure minimal legal risk.
  • Coordinate the functional planning and execution of annual HR processes including goal setting, performance evaluation, merit/promotion decisions, compensation planning and talent management.
  • Develop company policies, procedure and compliance materials.
  • Educate internal staff on HR related matters
  • Manage high impact and demanding Talent Acquisition and attraction strategies – Branding and building Sanguine’s employment brand in the market for jobs in Biotech

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s/MBA preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive HR leadership with hands‑on generalist expertise across employee relations, performance, compensation, talent management, and compliance.
  • Experience scaling HR infrastructure and culture in a high‑growth life‑sciences or healthcare environment.
  • Demonstrated success implementing HRIS/ATS platforms, people‑analytics dashboards, and multi‑state HR compliance programs.
  • Proven track record designing salary structures, variable‑pay models, and equity programs in private or venture‑backed companies.
  • Strong business acumen, data literacy, and vendor‑management skills; able to craft ROI‑driven proposals and manage budgets.
  • Excellent communication, coaching, and change‑management capabilities.
  • Life Sciences sector experience required

Working Conditions:

  • Remote role with core collaboration hours aligned to Pacific Time; up to 10 % travel for leadership offsite and industry conferences.

Salary Range : $155,000 to 165,000 plus performance based bonus
