Job description

About Us

Reframe Systems is on a mission to build fast, cost-efficient, and climate-resilient homes for everyone. Through our modular building platform and highly automated production process, we reduce costs, shorten delivery times, and lower embodied carbon for housing projects of all sizes—from single-family homes to large multifamily developments. Our first software-driven factory in the greater Boston area (Andover, MA) is just the beginning of our national expansion. Backed by leading venture capital firms in the industrial and construction sectors, we are transforming how homes are built.

What We're Looking For

We’re seeking a Software Engineer with an emphasis on front-end development to help design and build full-stack applications that support our manufacturing operations. In this role, you’ll craft solutions across cloud-native services, data pipelines, IoT devices, and user interfaces that power our next-generation manufacturing platform. The ideal candidate has a talent for converting user requirements into intuitive, scalable interfaces in a rapidly evolving start-up environment, while also contributing to back-end solutions. Join us to drive the future of software-defined manufacturing for industrialized construction.

Responsibilities

  • Full-Stack Development

    • Design, develop, and maintain front-end applications using modern web technologies (e.g., React, Vue, or Angular) with a focus on providing a seamless user experience.

    • Build and integrate scalable back-end services, ensuring performance, security, and reliability.

  • UI/UX Leadership

    • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and end-users to gather requirements and deliver intuitive user interfaces and workflows.

    • Define the look and feel of internal dashboards, ensuring they provide clear insights to manufacturing and operations teams.

  • Data Collection & Analysis

    • Construct data pipelines and mission-critical dashboards that guide decisions in operations and business development.

    • Create analytics tools and visualizations that communicate findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration

    • Work with interdisciplinary teams to digitize and optimize manufacturing processes and shape our CAD-to-Fab pipeline.

    • Rapidly prototype new features; transform proofs of concept into production-ready software over time.

  • Innovation & Experimentation

    • Validate hypotheses through data-driven experimentation and prototyping, advocating successful concepts to peers and leadership.

    • Adopt a continuous learning mindset, quickly adapting to new technologies, frameworks, and methods.

  • Culture & Mentorship

    • Help foster a culture of innovation, quality, and mentorship within our growing technology team, sharing front-end best practices with peers.

Qualifications

  • Proven Delivery

    • Demonstrated track record of delivering production-ready code under tight timelines, with a user-centered mindset.

  • Stakeholder Management

    • Experience working with end-users, technical leaders, and senior management to gather requirements, articulate system designs, and align product strategy.

  • Technical Expertise

    • Front-End: Strong skills in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript/TypeScript, and modern frameworks (e.g., React, Vue, or Angular).

Back-End: Proficiency in Python, C++, or similar languages, with familiarity in containerized frameworks and cloud services (EC2, Lambda, etc.).

Data & APIs: Knowledge of data-centric application patterns (GraphQL experience is a plus) and database management.

Engineering Best Practices: Comfortable with code reviews, coding standards, source management, CI/CD, testing, and the full software development lifecycle.

  • Communication & Teamwork

    • Effective communication skills and a collaborative approach, with the ability to explain technical concepts to diverse audiences.

  • Autonomy & Problem-Solving

    • Self-driven, capable of tackling complex issues and comfortable navigating ambiguity in a start-up environment.

Bonus

  • Experience delivering software that orchestrates workflows across software, human, and machine systems (e.g., automated factories, modern e-commerce fulfillment).

Familiarity with discrete simulation of large systems and sim-to-real design patterns.

Background in designing and deploying large-scale data pipelines (e.g., Tableau, Grafana) or analytics platforms.

Experience working with PLM, ERP, or MES systems in manufacturing environments.

If you’re excited about our mission but don’t meet every requirement, we still encourage you to apply. We’re committed to building a diverse team and value different perspectives.
