Job description

Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, Inc. seeks a Lead Product Manager in Rockville, MD.

Summary of Duties:    

  • The Lead Product Manager role involves a high level of responsibility and decision-making authority, particularly in setting data analytics product direction, overseeing the product development process, collaborating with teams, and ensuring product success.
  • Define the direction and goals for data analytics products.
  • Plan and manage data analytics products through the product development process.
  • Oversee data analytics product designs and develop strategy to meet needs of users and stakeholders.
  • Research and analyze data analytics products to inform key decisions.
  • Define and develop data analytics products by identifying gaps and user needs and creating product requirements documents.
  • Utilize existing data or conduct research and product experiments to identify user needs and enhance user value in data analytics products.
  • Make trade-off decisions for data analytics products within a product group. Collaborate with business and product stakeholders, and the UI/UX, architecture, and technology teams to facilitate product and user success.
  • Coordinate with interdependent teams and influence leadership to drive efficiencies.
  • Participate in the intake process for product domain. Lead the product planning process for data analytics products by overseeing the development of requirements documents (user stories, acceptance criteria, and use cases).
  • Maintain a prioritized backlog based on defined user value, aligning with product strategy and resource capacity, and use data and analytics to prioritize the product backlog appropriately.
  • Define the design direction for user experience for data analytics products and provide UI/UX approval.
  • Determine and monitor release goals, prioritization, implementation, and iteration plans for data analytics products according to user value.
  • Resolve problems and bugs that are escalated during the product development process.
  • Facilitate the development process by reviewing demos with the technology team and validating acceptance criteria for data analytics products.
  • Identify issues affecting product delivery and quality, create a resolution plan, and directly resolve or inform leadership.
  • Lead product launches by working with stakeholders to develop launch plans (a roadmap for introducing a new product to the market), resolving issues that may delay the launch, coordinating user acceptance testing, and developing product documentation and training materials.
  • Track and report product launch metrics, lead post-launch reviews, and use feedback to improve products and future product releases.
  • Identify new methods and metrics for tracking product success, working with the technology team to improve reports and monitoring.
  • Provide guidance to junior-level product management team members.
  • Work with cross-functional leaders to establish best practices and improve the product development and delivery process.

Education requirements:              Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, Communications, Information Systems, or related field or foreign equivalent

Experience requirements:           7 years’ experience in product and/or experience management

Salary: $188,292 - $232,500 per year

Time Off and Paid Leave*
