Cancer Specialists of North Florida is recruiting for an experienced Authorization Specialist for our busy Central Business Office. This is not a remote position. The Authorization Specialist is responsible for obtaining and recording all drug authorizations needed. This position completes the financial approvals in EMR. In addition to these tasks, this position also obtains office visit referrals, prepares general reports as needed and communicates with different locations about drug authorization requests. Essential duties and responsibilities include the following: 

  • Obtains and enters all drug authorizations in computer systems (PM and EMR)
  • Completes the financial approvals in EMR
  • Pulls location reports to identify services needing authorization
  • Answers and resolves incoming calls from locations regarding STAT requests 
  • Notates patient accounts with any pertinent information relating to authorizations
  • All other duties as assigned

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Minimum of two years of authorization and insurance verification experience, preferably in a medical and/or oncology setting
