Job description

Summary Purpose for the Position

The Asset Manager provides comprehensive asset management oversight. The asset manager is responsible for assuring the long-range achievement of financial, physical and regulatory (compliance) benchmarks established for a portfolio of properties. This asset manager’s role is responsible for monitoring, reporting and helping to achieve property performance goals through analysis and due diligence.


Requirements (Education, Experience, Certification, Knowledge, Skill)

Position requires bachelor’s degree in accounting or five or more years’ experience with asset management and affordable housing knowledge of all aspects of financial and property management. 

Knowledge of Low-Income Housing Tax Credit and Real Estate Development compliance requirements. 

Experience with computer spreadsheets and Property management software. 

Knowledge in Yardi is a plus.


Position Responsibilities

Implement the organization’s asset management operations plan for the organization.

Support due diligence efforts related to property acquisition, capitalization and disposition

Provide asset management KPI (Key performance indicators) reports to staff.

Assess monthly property operating performance against key performance indicators (KPIs) across the life of the properties, including initial lease-up compliance.

Maintain a clear understanding of key property documents such as, but not limited to, partnership, regulatory, loan and subsidy documents and their relevant obligations and opportunities.

Stay abreast of industry best practices and updated/new relevant programs including industry-related policies, statutes, rules and regulations that impact the properties.

Preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual required reports; both internally and externally.

Collect and monitor reports from third party property management companies and upload information into Yardi.

Assist in the submission and monitoring of property insurance claims.

Development of new and improved processing strategies, cost/benefit analysis.


Working Conditions/Environment

Includes routine utilization of computers, calculators and stress related to audit work and deadlines.


Transportation Requirement

Position requires automobile, driver’s license and insurance.
