*This position requires daily travel in the Mid-West region of the United States and reports to the Regional SQA Manager. The ideal candidate lives in or is willing to relocate within the Mid-West region (Ohio, Indiana, etc) of the United States as daily travel within the region is a requirement of this role.

Supplier Quality Assurance is seeking an experienced quality practitioner to be a Pratt & Whitney Supplier Quality Assurance Representative. This position covers the Mid-West region of the United States and reports to the regional SQA manager.

What You Will Do:

  • Process Certification.
  • Be able to participate in supplier PFMEA events, review Process Control documentation, provide feedback to suppliers on process Controls and Improvements in preventive controls.  
  • Able to interpret and help suppliers with Implementation of PWA process control standards and Industry standards like AS 13004, AS 13006.
  • Drive Implementation of appropriate process capability monitoring tools such as Statistical control charts.
  • Be able to review net inspect process capability module and provide guidance to suppliers on KPC Management.
  • Provide guidance to supplier base and drive Measurement System Analysis, GRR, Gage suitability studies.
  • Drive suppliers on implementation of Statistical Sampling Procedures ASQR-20.1 and use of Alternate Sampling Procedure approvals, where needed.
  • Co-ordinate with Pratt and Whitney Member -Focal for any supplier actions on achieving full UPPAP approvals.
  • Periodically Monitor Supplier Process Capability Improvement Projects for their implementation.
  • Be able to Carry out First Article Over- Inspections using Net Inspect Process or as mandated by SQA management
  • Manage Supplier Qualified parts List using Net Inspect.
  • Coordinate with other Pratt and Whitney Quality Functions to ensure full compliance to Quality Requirements via an Enhanced FAI process.
  • Be able to Visually and Dimensional Inspect the Parts or witness the inspection process for conformance.
  • Drive suppliers to use correct Part Marking techniques and be able to over-inspect the Part marking requirements.  
  • Review Product Inspection Plans for Proper application of data and application of GD&T standards like ASME Y 14.5 or PWA Inspection Standards.
  • Be able to review and provide feedback to suppliers on CMM software correlation of Inspection Methods.
  • Review supplier CMM/ other Inspection reports and help determine conformance to requirements and if needed the reasons for inspection related non-conformance.
  • Be able to have discussions with PWA Engineering on interpretation and when needed, suggest changes.
  • Understands basic inspection/ layout techniques and be able to recommend Inspection methods suiting dimensional tolerances.
  • Working knowledge of use of measuring instruments, Gauges in product inspections.
  • Ability to read and interpret quality specifications.
  • Participate in Escape Resolutions and be able to review supplier Corrective actions using problem resolution techniques such as 8D’s, DMAIC or DIVE to drive root cause investigations.
  • Review and test corrective action effectiveness.
  • Be able to coordinate with PWA internal teams on defect investigation and resolution.   
  • Drive suppliers with various Pratt and Whitney Quality System Requirements Implementation and flow down into their Quality Systems.
  • Carry out periodic Quality audits (Process/ Process and Quality System) at suppliers to ensure effective compliance and drive improvements.
  • Drive suppliers to implement DQR Quality System requirements flowed down via PWA purchase orders.
  • Drive suppliers to have robust contract review system in place to ensure suppliers meet Pratt and Whitney Purchase order requirements.
  • Drive suppliers to use electronic means of seeking official PWA Information on suppliers’ queries related to Drawing Interpretation, applicability issues etc.
  • Drive suppliers to use electronic EQN system for seeking concurrence on their non-conforming parts and processes.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years experience in Engineering/Technical Positions.
  • Frequent travel within the Mid-West region of the United States.

The salary range for this role is 124,000 USD - 250,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
