At Raytheon, the foundation of everything we do is rooted in our values and a higher calling – to help our nation and allies defend freedoms and deter aggression. We bring the strength of more than 100 years of experience and renowned engineering expertise to meet the needs of today’s mission and stay ahead of tomorrow’s threat. Our team solves tough, meaningful problems that create a safer, more secure world.

Our Electronics Commodity Organization (Integrated Supplier Team) within Operations and Supply Chain (OSC) at Raytheon has an excellent opportunity for a Commodity Performance Lead (CPL) to join our CCA Sourcing & Execution Integrated Supplier Team (IST). In this specific role you will partner with a key supplier to manage, prioritize, execute, and resolve issues that prevent the supplier from reworking and delivering product per schedule.

The near term objective of the role is supplier execution management for our APS business, specific to returned product. You will regularly engage with the supplier to understand progress and obstacles to meeting delivery needs. You will partner with the supplier to resolve those obstacles and take lead on specific obstacles that can be resolved under Raytheon control. You will regularly be communicating status, actions, and owners of issues at various organizational levels both within Raytheon and at the supplier. Your success in the role will be determined by your ability to effectively communicate status, find creative ways to solve problems, and build trusted professional relationships with both internal and external stake holders.

Post completion of this role, opportunities exist to manage the relationship with this or other suppliers, backed by a technical understanding of manufacturing processes and constraints. Focus will be on driving supplier On-Time Delivery, improved quality, reduced cost and lead-times, and acting as a communication path between the supplier and various organizations within Raytheon.

What You Will Do:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain a clear execution and delivery schedule for the supplier's products, in partnership with the supplier
  • Communicate status (challenges, actions, owners, needs) at various levels within both Raytheon and the supplier
  • Drive closure of actions that are owned by Raytheon by building relationships
  • Drive closure of actions at the supplier by gaining trust and clearly communicating Raytheon priorities
  • Build relationships with supplier counterparts and executives to improve supplier performance and to ensure alignment with our current execution and future business priorities and strategies.
  • Discuss material, technical, and resource challenges from a position of manufacturing experience
  • This is an individual contributor role

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a University Degree in a related field and a minimum of 8 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and a minimum of 5 years relevant experience
  • Program Management, Commodity Management, Supplier Performance Management, and/or Procurement experience required
  • Ability to travel 25-40% domestically
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Working knowledge of Electronics Assembly at either a Circuit Card Assembly, Box-Level build, or comparable manufacturing processes and technologies
  • Defense Industry Experience and familiarity with FAR/DFAR requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to influence across a matrix organization
  • The ability to perform duties with minimal oversight; ability to understand the organization’s goals, create the plan, and then determine the tactical tasks to achieve success
  • Strong communication skills
