Job Overview

Montgomery Excavation Inc is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Project Engineer/Junior Estimator to support our Project Management team. This hybrid role offers an exciting opportunity to grow into a Project Manager or Estimator position. You'll assist with project planning, takeoffs, contract reviews, and cost/crew management. Ideal candidates will have a solid foundation in civil construction and a passion for learning and professional development.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform project takeoffs and assist with bid preparation
• Support contract review and compliance tasks
• Assist in cost tracking and crew/resource management
• Contribute to project scheduling, planning, and updates
• Coordinate with field personnel and subcontractors
• Track project milestones and prepare status reports
• Ensure safety compliance and participate in jobsite visits
• Maintain organized project documentation
• Participate in meetings with clients, engineers, and municipal agencies
  
  

Qualifications

• 2+ years of relevant experience in civil construction (preferred)
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Engineering (preferred)
• High school diploma or GED required
• Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills
• Familiarity with construction drawings and estimating software is a plus
• Self-motivated and eager to grow professionally
• Valid driver's license required
