About the Role

Otto Aviation is seeking a dynamic engineer to support the physical design and integration of Electrical Systems in CATIA 3DX. You will join a team developing the world’s most efficient aircraft. Otto Aviation is seeking first principles engineers that balance creativity with experience while working within an effective team atmosphere.

 What You'll Do

  • Support the design, development, and integration of electrical systems, ensuring compliance with technical specifications, performance standards, and regulatory requirements, including the following:
    • Generation and Distribution
    • Electrical Wiring / EWIS
    • Lighting
  • Conduct trade studies for optimized form, fit, and function of electrical systems to include detailed system layouts and airframe integration in CATIA 3DExperience (3DX)
  • Support generation of Interface Control Documentation (3D and 2D models)
  • Participate in interdisciplinary design reviews
  • Collaborate with structures, stress, certification, manufacturing, and supply chain teams
  • Coordinate with cross functional teams to define and validate interfaces with adjacent systems and structures
  • Create both experimental and production digital product definition for components, assemblies, and installations, to include dimensions, materials, and processes necessary to fully define the configuration
  • Produce bill of materials and assist in manufacturing assembly instructions

Who You Are

Education

  • S., in Electrical or Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent

Experience

  • 0-2 years of experience in Systems design

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with fabrication, assembly, and installation methods of wiring and mechanical electrical components
  • Experience with ASME Y14.100 Drawings and Y14.5 GD&T
  • Experience with model and drawing checking, engineering part and model release, and engineering change process
  • Experience utilizing CATIA V5, V6, or 3dx
