Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related; CA/CPA qualified or progressing. Proven post-qualification experience in Australian accounting, tax compliance and corporate finance. Proven Xero & Xero Tax expertise, including setting up, reconciling and reporting in Xero; hands-on BGL360 superfund management. Strong grasp of Australian tax legislation (income tax, GST, payroll tax, superannuation) and AAS/GAAP. Advanced Excel skills for financial modelling, analysis and reporting; familiarity with Handiledger an advantage. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication and interpersonal skills, with high attention to detail and integrity. Ability to prioritise workload, work autonomously in a dynamic environment, and willingness to occasionally handle escalated phone queries.

Core responsibilities:

Prepare, analyze and present monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow) in accordance with Australian Accounting Standards (AAS/GAAP). Maintain accurate bookkeeping: general ledger entries, accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations, and superfund transaction records using Xero and BGL360. Assist in development of annual budgets and forecasts; perform variance analysis and recommend corrective actions to management. Prepare and lodge tax returns (income tax, GST, payroll tax, superannuation compliance) using Xero Tax; advise on Australian tax planning strategies and legislative changes. Support internal and external audits: compile working papers, perform audit tests, reconcile accounts and ensure adherence to internal controls. Manage SMSF and other superannuation funds administration via BGL360, ensuring timely contributions, compliance and reporting. Collaborate with cross-functional teams and respond to complex client enquiries (including occasional phone support) to resolve accounting and tax issues.
