About The Opportunity

Responsible for managing the sales team in Quebec, the Director of Sales’s primary mandate is to develop and manage a team of Account Executives, to achieve the sales objectives for their region, and support the achievement of Canada Guaranty’s corporate objectives.

In this role, you will:

  • Assist Vice President, Regional Sales to prepare business plan required to achieve Canada Guaranty objectives
  • Successfully execute the business plan by developing and maintaining a motivated, high performing team effectively delivering Canada Guaranty products and services
  • Manage Account Executives in the applicable region, including business planning, development and coaching, performance management, and expense reviews
  • Manage senior regional business partnerships and customer relationships
  • Travel (regionally and nationally) as required
  • Represent Canada Guaranty at industry events and lender meetings when appropriate to establish and maintain a strong industry presence for the company (including evenings or weekends as required)
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of Canada Guaranty’s corporate relationships/partners as well as the company’s products and services, and ensure Account Executives maintain current knowledge
  • Monitor internal service standards and conduct regular analysis of regional volumes, analyzing and identifying trends and barriers to regional progress

 

Essential Qualifications

  • Fluently bilingual (French and English), both written and spoken
  • Undergraduate degree in Business/Finance or equivalent work experience
  • At least 10 years of sales experience in the financial services industry, with relevant experience in a combination of mortgage lending and/or default insurance
  • Strong track record of success in a sales leadership role, with extensive experience recruiting, developing, managing, and coaching successful sales teams, along with demonstrated in-depth knowledge of sales and business development strategies
  • Excellent communication skills - communicates complex information, ideas and proposals both verbally and in writing in a succinct, organized manner, and communicates well at all levels, including senior level financial services leaders, large external groups, and internally
  • Effectively develops and maintains customer/industry relationships and networks, with established relationships within the financial services & insurance industry
  • Passion for and commitment to delivering value-added solutions and superior customer service to our customers
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to quickly and concisely communicate opportunities
  • Exhibits an energetic “can-do” approach and facilitates a culture of performance excellence
  • Maintains high level of knowledge of current and emerging trends, methods and products in the industry
  • Exhibits a systematic, disciplined, risk-based approach to problem-solving, demonstrating innovation, creative thinking to develop new approaches or solutions, and the ability to make recommendations and decisions that consider all implications and the proactive management of risk
