Job Summary

Job Description

  • Provides administrative office management and support to the Recovery Unit business processes and staff, as assigned by the TPL Program Manager 2.
  • Participates in the formulation and execution of recovery policies and procedural updates, which includes trauma recovery, estate recovery, and third party liability coordination of benefits. Collaborates with relevant stakeholders to ensure that all changes align with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
  • Aids in the creation and ongoing maintenance of Health Plan Advisories and Informational Bulletins issued by the Louisiana Department of Health (LDH) Recovery Unit. Ensures that these communications are accurate, timely, and effectively disseminated to stakeholders regarding TPL, Estate, and Trauma recovery efforts.
  • Processes incoming provider requests for DSH approvals, in coordination with LDH’s Fiscal Department, LDH’s Appointed Authority approver, and LDH’s Fiscal Intermediary, per established standards and procedures.
  • Responsible for compiling and reporting on TPL, Estate Recovery, and Trauma Recovery Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), providing essential data for performance evaluation and decision-making.
  • Collaborates with the LDH Fiscal Department to assist in the preparation of TPL, Estate Recovery, and Trauma Recovery Quarterly Financial Reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial reporting standards.
  • Assists with the process of documenting workflow, policies, and procedures for the Recovery unit.
  • Updates the State’s federally mandated Third Party Liability Action Plan for estate recovery, trauma recovery, and coordination of benefits to ensure it reflect current practices and compliance with Louisiana Medicaid recovery standards.
  • Handles inquiries from legal entities, beneficiaries, providers, health plans, and members via phone, email, and fax, focusing on the coordination of benefits, estate recovery, and trauma recovery between Medicaid and other liable third parties.
  • Undertakes other responsibilities as necessary to assist in the smooth functioning of the Recovery unit, contributing to the overall mission of the organization
  • Other tasks as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s degree, or Associate’s degree plus 3 years of professional experience, or 6 years of professional experience in lieu of degree.
  • Excellent analytical skills, effective organizational and time management skills.
  • Great attention to detail and follow up.
  • Excellent verbal/written communications skills.
  • Team and goal oriented.

DESIRED:

  • Advanced degree.
  • Minimum 1 year of professional experience performing administrative functions within an office environment or health care field.
  • Minimum 1 year of professional experience with Medicaid, third party liability (TPL), estate recovery, trauma recovery, or coordination of benefits.
  • Minimum 1 year of professional experience documenting procedures/policies.
  • Minimum 1 year of professional experience working within case management systems, Medicaid data platforms, or financial reporting software.
