Title: Senior Director, Clinical Excellence & Program Development  

Location: In-office M-F, 685 Third Avenue 9th FL, New York, NY 10017 

Employment Type: Full-Time    

Salary Range:  $170,000-$180,000

About the Position: 

The Senior Director of Clinical Excellence & Program Development is a strategic leader responsible for advancing clinical operations, provider development, and innovative care delivery within DocGo. This role blends executive-level clinical oversight with hands-on engagement in program growth, clinical quality, and workforce development. With responsibility across both employed and contracted provider teams—including Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) and Registered Nurse (RN) Managers—this leader ensures high-performing, patient-centered care through consistent staffing, training, and operational alignment. 

 

Serving as a core advisor to Medical Directors and executive leadership, the Senior Director fosters a culture of excellence, compliance, and continuous improvement, with occasional direct clinical care accounting for up to 20% of their time based on program needs. 

 

Responsibilities:  

  • Clinical Workforce Strategy 

  • Oversees APP staffing optimization across all clinical initiatives.  

  • Manages recruitment, onboarding, performance reviews, and retention strategies for APPs and RN Managers. 

  • Services as a clinical escalation resource for providers in the field 

  • Training, Competency & Professional Development 

  • Establishes and maintains uniform core competencies across the clinical workforce. 

  • Provides leadership in new hire orientation and ongoing training standards. 

  • Facilitates mentorship, coaching, and performance counseling as necessary. 

  • Program Development & Leadership 

  • Leads or advises on new program initiatives and clinical workflows involving APPs. 

  • Collaborates with Quality Assurance on root cause analyses and care investigations. 

  • Directs clinical oversight and workflow design for municipal and healthcare partnerships. 

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement 

  • Partners with Medical Directors, Nurse Managers, and administrative teams to enhance care quality and operational efficiencies. 

  • Represents clinical capabilities in internal and client-facing forums, offering programmatic insights. 

  • Participates in credentialing, privileging, policy and procedure development, and quality/safety committees. 

  • Systems Fluency & EHR Proficiency 

  • Demonstrates AthenaHealth mastery to guide performance analytics, documentation standards, and care delivery improvements. 

  • Governance, Compliance & Ethics 

  • Upholds and enforces compliance with internal policies, ethical standards, and regulatory mandates. 

  • Reports and addresses clinical quality concerns and company policy violations, utilizing internal compliance and HR channels as appropriate. 

  • Other tasks as assigned 

 

Requirements: 

  • Minimum of five years of experience as an Advanced Practice Provider with demonstrated leadership responsibilities. 

  • Background in clinical supervision, scheduling, and provider operations. 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and AthenaHealth. 


Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Board Certification; licensure in NJ/NY/CA or ability to apply right away  

  • Unrestricted DEA registration 

  • ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications
