Job description

A well-established, client-focused trust and investment management firm offers tailored financial planning and investment services to individuals preparing for or already in retirement. A growth opportunity has opened within the tax services team for a skilled professional to support trust tax compliance. This newly created role is designed to provide expert assistance to Trust Officers across the business and is ideal for candidates with a solid background in trust tax matters. Permanent, preferably full-time in-office but open to hybrid and reduced hours. R42 000 - R45 000 per month for full-time, or pro-rata for part-time. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Complete and submit ITR12T tax returns, including tax calculations and payment execution

  • Handle SARS e-filing duties for trusts, including IT3(T) submissions

  • Accurately capture relevant data using tax management tools

  • Review assessments, correct errors, and manage objections

  • Respond to SARS queries and arrange client refunds

  • Advise on trust-related tax issues and income tax matters

  • Propose tax planning strategies and communicate feedback to internal advisors and clients

  • Liaise with both internal departments and external clients to ensure smooth tax processes

  • Resolve tax-related queries promptly, keeping all stakeholders informed of progress and outcomes


Please note this is not a remote role. 


Requirements
  • 5 years of experience in a similar tax role, with a strong focus on trusts
  • Solid understanding of trust financial statements and compliance obligations
  • Registered Tax Practitioner or Technician with a valid practitioner/technician code
  • Proficient in MS Office (especially Excel) and relevant tax software
  • Detail-oriented, well-organised, and capable of working independently
  • Clean credit and criminal record, valid driver’s licence, and access to own vehicle
