About the role.
McCain Foods is now accepting applications for a Sanitation Laborer to work a 12-hour day shift at our Burley, ID facility. Under limited supervision, the Sanitation Laborer performs any of a variety of cleaning and sanitation work in all areas of the plant following established sanitation standards, procedures and practices. The sanitation laborer uses a variety of equipment such as high pressure hoses and cleaning chemicals during their shift. The sanitation laborer completes all assigned work on a daily basis while working in a safe manner following all safety rules, including LOTO, and JSA’s. This position supports Production and Quality Control.
What you’ll be doing.
- Performs deep cleaning and sanitizing of equipment as listed in Sanitation SOP’s.
- Cleans and sanitizes the production and packaging areas and other areas as assigned.
- Flushes, scrubs and sanitizes ceilings, walls, floors, overhead pipes and other areas as assigned, cleans and wipes lights and electrical cords.
- Cleans mats, carts and buckets used in the production area on a daily basis.
- Measure and mixes appropriate chemical cleaning agents per specification.
- Refills and distributes chemical cleaning agent containers as needed.
- Understand and be familiar with the inventory control process and procedure within sanitation department.
- Uses high pressure cleaning apparatuses and mixes and applies potentially hazardous chemical compounds and solutions
What you’ll need to be successful.
- Must have the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Must have ability to write routine reports and correspondence, and speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
- Must have demonstrated computer skills and experience with the ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment where multi-tasking is required.

- Hourly rate: $18.74 - $20.82
- $1.50 shift differential for graveyard positions.
