Meyer Plastics is currently seeking a talented, motivated and detail-oriented Maintenance Mold Technician/Fabricator to join our highly skilled team. The starting pay is $21-$25/hr. and up depending on experience. This position is a Part-Time position with a shift from 7:00AM - 3:30 PM Monday – Wednesday or 7:00AM – 11:00AM Monday - Friday. This employee will be given thorough training enabling them to be successful team members. This team member will report to the Technical Manager and work closely with the Finishing Room Supervisor to maintain a smooth flow of material in all departments.

General Duties:  

Responsible for support of Thermo-Forming molds and fixtures, CNC fixtures, and fabrication fixtures. Creates precision plastic, wood, and aluminum fixtures or molds from prints and sketches. Will build prototypes, models, samples, fixtures for trimming, molds. Individuals will also be fabricating products using machinery such as pin routers, table saw, drill press, mills, lathes, hand tools, epoxies, and glues. 


Specific Duties:

  • Build tools and/or fixtures for use in production.
  • Use set formulas to size tools for part shrinkage, depending on specified material.
  • Perform mold/fixture repairs and modifications. This includes finishing tools that come in from outside vendors (or customer owned tooling) and require additional plumbing or final fitting.
  • Maintain inventory and requisition supplies of tooling materials not stocked as distribution stock. Maintain      an inventory of tools required in the care of molds and fixtures.
  • Trim, drill, and do cut-out work on prototype parts.
  • Maintain tools and fixtures ahead of time-based on the production schedule to ensure the needs of the customer can be met.
  • When not actively working on mold or fixtures, complete customer orders on time.
  • Follow customer specifications and provided prints to produce finished goods.
  • Use woodworking and fabricating skills to create custom parts.

Requirements

Experience

· Woodworking and/or plastics fabrication experience is required

· Epoxy/fiberglass/aluminum experience is a positive

Salary Description
$21.00 - $25.00/hour
