About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Reconciliation Analyst at XiFin to join our medical billing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for analyzing payment data, ensuring accurate billing and reimbursement processes, and improving overall financial performance for assigned customers. You must possess analytic skills, enjoy details, be experienced working in excel, and be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment. This role requires a strong understanding of healthcare billing procedures, insurance policies, and payment reconciliation.

How you will make an impact: 

In this role, you’ll: 

• Develop standard operating procedures and participate in training
• Follow up/Initiate payor ERA/EFT enrollment
• Participate in payment posting audits
• Maintain high level of productivity through speed and accuracy
• Posting insurance, patient, and client payments as needed
• Review and analyze payment reports, identifying trends, discrepancies, and areas for improvement in the billing process
• Perform monthly reconciliation of payments received against billed amounts, investigating and resolving discrepancies as needed
• Generate and present regular reports on payment performance, trends, and key metrics to management.
• Work closely with billing, coding, and collections teams to ensure accurate and efficient billing processes
• Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, as well as insurance payer policies related to medical billing and payment processes
• Provide training and support to billing staff on payment-related issues and best practices.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance the efficiency of billing operations

This is an onsite position at our office in Charleston, SC.

Skills and experience you have: 

You don’t need to check every box. We will consider a combination of education and experience, including: 

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration preferred
• Relevant experience/knowledge in medical billing, payment analysis, or healthcare finance
• Possesses strong Advanced Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel) experience
• Strong research and analytical skills
• High level of organizational, time management and customer service skills
