Job description

Product Designer - Miami/Hybrid

About The Role

Boats Group operates the world's largest boating marketplaces to include, but not limited to Yachtworld.com, boats.com and BoatTrader.com. At Boats Group, our mission is to get the world on the water.

We're looking for a Product Designer who can help shape intuitive, beautiful, and effective experiences across our digital marketplaces. This is a hands-on role for a designer who loves solving complex problems through thoughtful UX and polished UI. You’ll collaborate closely with product managers, developers, marketers, and other designers to craft experiences that feel effortless, whether someone is browsing boats or listing them.

What You'll Do

  • Design end-to-end product experiences, from early concepting and research to polished UI design.
  • Bring clarity to ambiguous problems through user journeys, flows, wireframes, and prototypes.
  • Work across web and mobile to design features that support both buyers and sellers.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align user needs with business goals.
  • Contribute to and evolve our growing design system, helping to create consistency while allowing for flexibility across surfaces.
  • Present your work with clarity and intention, and welcome feedback as a key part of the design process.
  • Stay up to date on design trends, tools, and best practices, especially in e-commerce and marketplaces.

What You Should Have

  • 3–5 years of experience in a Product Design or UX/UI role
  • Strong visual design skills with a keen eye for hierarchy, typography, layout, and interaction patterns
  • A systems thinker who understands how components scale across platforms and use cases
  • Comfort navigating ambiguous problem spaces using a human-centered design approach
  • Proficiency in Figma (bonus if you’ve worked with shared libraries or design tokens)
  • A collaborative approach. You're proactive, open-minded, and great at working with cross-functional teams

Nice to haves:

  • Experience building or contributing to a design system
  • Experience conducting user research and usability testing to inform and validate design decisions using wireframes, prototypes, and other tools as needed
  • Background in e-commerce, marketplaces, or consumer-facing digital products
  • Familiarity with basic front-end development principles (you don’t need to code, but understanding how things are built helps)

What You'll Receive

  • Hybrid Work Flexibility: Embrace a balanced work model with remote work on Mondays and Fridays and in-office collaboration from Tuesday to Thursday.
  • Generous Time Off: With a strong focus on work/life balance, we offer all employees paid time off starting on day one, multiple paid holidays throughout the year, your birthday off, and a winter break at the end of the year
  • Volunteering Time: Participate in our volunteer program with 4 paid days annually to contribute to your community.
  • Modern Office Perks: Our vibrant Miami office features cutting-edge amenities, such as an electric sit/stand desk, dual monitors, a gym, and a variety of snacks and beverages.
  • Comprehensive Benefits Package: Enjoy top-tier Medical, Dental, Vision, and Life insurance, along with a 401(k) plan featuring a 4% match.
  • Commuter Benefits: Park conveniently in our building’s garage at no charge to you. For train commuters, we subsidize most, if not all, of your monthly pass expenses.
  • Professional Development: Take advantage of online training, live courses, and additional funds for courses, seminars, and certifications to enhance your skills.
  • Team-Centric Atmosphere: Be part of a close-knit team that prioritizes relationship-building and personal connections.
