This company is looking for a Field Service Engineer to provide technical support for their unique, custom-built material testing machines. This highly autonomous role requires extensive travel (90-100%) to customer facilities to install, commission, service, calibrate, troubleshoot, and repair equipment. You'll be the face of the company, ensuring high customer satisfaction through your technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and ability to train customers.
You'll need to be a quick learner, able to think on your feet, and adept at troubleshooting complex electro-mechanical devices using schematics and mechanical drawings. The goal is to resolve all issues on the first visit, aiming for zero call-backs. The company values individuals who are eager to learn, friendly, and capable of self-correction. While you'll receive comprehensive training on their specialized equipment, a strong foundation in electrical (up to 480V), hydraulic, and pneumatic systems is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide expert on-site technical support for custom material testing machines, including installation, commissioning, servicing, calibration, troubleshooting, and repair.
Diagnose and resolve complex electro-mechanical issues using schematics and mechanical drawings, ensuring timely and complete solutions with a focus on first-visit resolution.
Effectively communicate technical information and train customers on equipment operation and software, while managing your own schedule and travel within an assigned territory.
Hands-on experience troubleshooting and repairing electrical systems up to 480V, along with hydraulics and pneumatics.
Ability to travel 90-100% of the time, Monday through Friday, with a company vehicle provided (personal use allowed) and all expenses reimbursed via a personal credit card.
Strong independent judgment, problem-solving skills, and excellent communication abilities to ensure high customer satisfaction.
