Job Location: Remote job located in Central US Region; Candidate will need to reside in Kentucky, Indiana, Ohio, Michigan or West Virginia surrounding locales.


Job Summary: 

The Member Support Specialist’s role is to provide business support and expertise to our NMG Member Companies in an assigned territory and pursue the growth of the organizations, creating an environment of superior member service & assisting group Member Companies to operate profitably and efficiently.  

The Member Support Specialist has a large set of accounts (approx. 250+) consisting of emerging Members in outlying areas within assigned region.   An MSS is expected to communicate regularly with assigned Members primarily through Video, Phone, and digital means to consult, support and service Members.   Limited travel may be necessary.   Primary focus is on the expansion of NMG services within assigned accounts.  Developing relationships with regional vendor reps is important as it paves way to both servicing Members and in recruiting efforts.


Job Responsibilities: 

  • Regular communications and Member touchpoints through video, phone and digital means within the assigned territory.  
  • Increase the number of NMG services and offerings within assigned accounts.
  • Provide ROI of NMG’s services through regular discussions and Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs).
  • Proactively assist Members to utilize NMG member services effectively.
  • Assist Independent Retailers achieve higher levels of success and profitability by sharing group programs and services.
  • Help Members grow store sales, lower operating costs through group services, and increase bottom line profits.
  • Recruit new Appliance, Electronics, Furniture, Bedding & Rent-to-Own retail companies for membership in NMG.  
  • Demonstrate to prospective Members the following:
    • The advantages in programs and services they will gain by joining NMG.
    • How they will grow their retail volume and grow profits as a member of NMG.
    • Provide constructive feedback about prospective members current operations and how NMG can help them improve sales and profitability.
  • Travel required (20-30%)
    • NMG bi-annual PrimeTime Events
    • NMG staff meetings and team trainings


Job Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Minimum of 3+ years’ experience in Sales/Marketing.
  • Experience in the fields of appliances, electronics, furniture, or bedding is a plus. 
  • Strong Communication skills through digital means. 
  • Excellent customer service, communication and follow through skills.
  • Strong client management skills with the ability to drive outcomes and manage client expectations.
  • Adapts well to shifting priorities, demands and timelines. Reacts to adjustments promptly and efficiently.
  • Exhibit organizational and communication skills to effectively manage competing priorities and project objectives.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to make sound decisions. 
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Ability to make solid business decisions.

Work Environment:

Must be able to read, write, and communicate both verbally and in written form to express and exchange ideas. While performing the responsibilities of this job, the employee must be able to access all components of workstation and other office equipment. Frequent typing, writing, bending, and twisting. Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds.

General office environment with moderate noise. This position is mostly sedentary, involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. A busy environment with many unscheduled interruptions. Frequent computer use at workstation for extended periods of time. Public contact position requiring appropriate business apparel.
