About The Role

The Information Security Analyst Intern will support the cybersecurity team in monitoring, analyzing, and responding to security incidents. This role provides hands-on experience with security tools, processes, and best practices while contributing to the protection of organizational assets. This internship will be located in the Augusta, Georgia office and required to be in office at least two days a week.

Core Responsibilities

• Assist in monitoring security alerts and events.
• Support incident response activities and investigations.
• Help maintain and update security documentation and procedures.
• Participate in vulnerability assessments and risk analysis.
• Collaborate with IT teams to implement security controls.
• Conduct research on emerging threats and security trends.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Education & Experience:
• Currently pursuing a degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field -or- earned an entry level or higher cybersecurity certification. (Security+, CC – Certified in Cybersecurity)
• Prior internship or coursework in cybersecurity is a plus.
• Skills & Competencies:
• Familiarity with cybersecurity principles and practices.
• Basic understanding of security tools such as SIEM, antivirus, and firewalls.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Prolonged periods of sitting and computer use.
• Hybrid work environment.

Internship Details

• Term: Up to 6 months (based on performance and availability)
• Schedule: Up to 30 hours per week, flexible around academic commitments
• Pay: $15/hour
