Production Artist (Social Media)

Job Description:

The Production Artist (Social Media) plays a key role in supporting the Organic Social Media team by creating engaging, on-brand graphics that align with curated content schedules across multiple client accounts. This role focuses on producing visually compelling and platform-optimized assets designed to drive audience engagement and support our clients’ social media strategies. This role has expert knowledge of current design software, a strong understanding of visual storytelling for social platforms, and a passion for content creation in the digital space.

Responsibilities:

  • Reports to the Design Manager
  • Social Media Asset Creation & Execution:
    • Translate pre-approved design concepts into finalized, platform-specific social media graphics (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.).
    • Support the development of weekly/monthly organic social content calendars with fresh, eye-catching creative assets.
    • Ensure all social graphics adhere to brand guidelines, client voice, and best practices for each platform and audience.
    • Implement creative adjustments based on platform-specific requirements (aspect ratios, sizing, text allowances, etc.).
    • Collaborate with the social media and design teams to evolve visual content based on performance feedback and social trends.
  • Content Storytelling & Visual Consistency
    • Understand the brand story, tone, and campaign goals outlined in social briefs to craft assets that convey key messages quickly and effectively.
    • Maintain consistency in brand expression across all organic social content while exploring opportunities for creative variation and audience engagement.
    • Understand how to best communicate the goal of the asset based on best practices by platform and be able to backup decisions with research
    • Apply research and insights into social media design trends and content performance to inform creative decisions.
    • Ensure that the final output accurately reflects the design concept and meets project requirements
    • Thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with a high-volume workload and short turnaround times
  • Stay updated on design trends, techniques, and tools to bring fresh ideas and innovation to projects
  • Independently and reliably meet and manage their project deadlines
  • Expertly use Adobe Creative Suite and other design software
  • Quality Control
    • Perform thorough reviews of all social assets to ensure quality, accuracy, and brand alignment prior to publishing.
    • Ensure assets meet technical specifications and are optimized for performance across all relevant platforms.
    • Collaborate with and accept feedback from Design Manager, Social Media Managers, graphic designers, senior graphic designers and clients to refine and improve asset output.
    • Conduct thorough quality control checks on all produced assets.
    • Review artwork for accuracy, consistency, and adherence to brand standards paying close attention to small details
    • Identify and rectify any errors or inconsistencies to ensure high-quality deliverables
  • File preparation, organization, and delivery
    • Prepare and package files appropriately for social media platforms
    • Organize project files and assets in a structured and accessible manner
    • Deliver assets in accordance with content calendar timelines and project deadlines.
  • Team Collaboration & Participation
    • Work closely with Designers, Art Directors, Social Media Managers and other cross-functional teams to align asset production with campaign strategy and objectives.
    • Actively participate in content planning and production meetings, providing input and feedback as needed
    • When capacity allows, this role may support other projects within the design team to help with overflow and translate pre-conceptualized designs and concepts into finalized visual assets across additional channels.
    • Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment by sharing knowledge and expertise with colleagues

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in graphic design, art, or related discipline
  • Three or more years of experience (academic and professional) with design software, including Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop. AfterEffects is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of organic social media platforms, content types, and design best practices.
  • Experience creating visual content for social media (preferred but not required).
  • Detail-oriented with excellent layout, composition, and typography skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and adapt to shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
  • Organizational and time-management skills for meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Desire to continue building skill set with education and training

Salary: $25 p/hr  up to 35 hours per week.
