River Oaks Country Club is looking for a fitness instructor who provides expert group exercise instruction to Members in one or more group exercise disciplines, ensuring a fun, energizing, safe and non-intimidating environment that maximizes Member participation.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver safe, effective, cutting-edge fitness classes without repetition.
  • Know and instruct members on proper exercise form and technique and provide regressions and progressions when needed.
  • Arrive 15 minutes before class to prepare the space.
  • Have music cued and ready to play before class.
  • Ability to multitask while instructing.
  • Knowledge of club and instructor policies, i.e., finding substitute instructors.
  • Must attend required trainings when offered.
  • Understand/utilize cueing while keeping excess talking to a minimum.
  • Put away equipment after each class.
  • Learn member’s names, anticipate their needs while maintaining a professional relationship without oversharing personal opinions, beliefs and information.
  • Professionally communicate with clients about their fitness goals and create classes for all fitness levels.

Qualifications

  • At least 2 years’ experience teaching group exercise
  • Post graduate degree preferred.
  • Approved certification body for the specific classes being taught required.
  • CPR and AED certification required.
  • Availability on Saturdays
  • Expert at more than one group exercise disciplines including cycling and weight classes
