The CFAES Operations Team is responsible for agricultural and animal operations, information and educational technology, facilities and capital planning, CFAES Wooster facilities operations, and safety. This dynamic team operates across the Columbus, CFAES Wooster, and Statewide campuses, fostering a high-performance culture focused on supporting teaching, research, and Extension programs effectively and efficiently. The position reports to the Lead Administrative Specialist and works with the CFAES Operations Directors and administrative support team.

Key Responsibilities:

Administrative Support: Provide comprehensive administrative support to the CFAES Operations team with a focus on support for Agricultural Operations including preparing documents and presentations, tracking project progress, and ensuring deadlines are met.

Human Resources Support and HR Liaison Duties: Assist with HR-related projects and initiatives for the CFAES Operations team, including advertising open positions, scheduling interviews, coordinating onboarding and new staff orientation, and tracking performance reviews. Serve as a liaison for HR functions, enter position requests and requisitions, and support staff hiring processes.

Office Management: Manage front desk operations, coordinate complex calendaring for 3 Directors, travel arrangements, and reimbursements, prepare and distribute meeting agendas and minutes, and draft correspondence and briefing documents.

Project Coordination: Planning and logistics for internal and external stakeholders, preparing and formatting documents, and updating department web pages.

Feed Mill: Document coordination, label formatting & data entry

Additional Duties: Provide backup support to the Lead Administrative Associate and other administrative personnel during peak periods. Orders supplies and services, serves as building coordinator. Occasional travel to Columbus, OH, or statewide locations may be required.

Minimum Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • 2 years of relevant experience required.
  • Proficient in MS Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Excellent Oral/written communication skills

Desired Experience:

  • An associate degree in a relevant field.
  • 4-6 years of relevant experience preferred.
  • Experience with Workday.
  • Some familiarity with agricultural terminology and concepts.

Salary: Minimum $21.35- Mid $27.88

Position is Hybrid: 4 days in the Wooster, Ohio office; 1 day work from home.

The salary paid to an individual will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limit to, education, years of experience, internal equity, etc.
